The book Of Mice and Men is written by the author John Steinbeck. I think the book is written for everybody because everyone can read it if they want to. I think that the author was not successful in getting the message across, because I didn't really get the message from this book. Also, this book doesn't contain the message. But I guess the message is good friends should help each other in every problem. You can share your happy or unhappy feelings to them, but you can't always bother them and waste their time. In the book like Lennie is bothering George too much, for the result George is kill Lennie because he doesn't want another people to touch him or he thinks Lennie will affect his dreams.
I think the good thing about the novel is the irony, because I don't think that George will kill Lennie, they are good friends. In the book said "George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie's head." It makes me surprised and excited because I never think about that George kills Lennie. I think you will be interest to read this irony and what are they characterized, how Lennie bothers George, why George want to kills Lennie. In the other hand, the bad thing about the novel is the book is using regional dialect. For example:" Ain't we gonna have no supper?" and " You ain't puttin' nothing over." First time I saw those words, I misunderstand them, but I try to read them, then I find out what it is means. Also, the author discussing too much about the setting, I feel little boring for it.
This novel is part of series by the author. The author John Steinbeck wrote many novels when he is alive. He was dead in 1968, having won a Nobel Prize in 1962. I will read some novels from this author, like " The Pearl".
I think this novel didn't help me in anyway, but it reminds me don't always bother other people for doing something to you. You should try to do things by yourself and be independent.
